HOMEOWNERS BEWARE. My experience with Construction Specialties and Dave Conroy has been a nightmare from start to finish. The only thing that went well was the quote- the price was reasonable and Dave seemed to know what he was talking about. He promised that the stucco job would take about a week and that he would make sure that the trim was painted to last for years to come. He also promised to fix some other small issues on our patio once the main work was done. Dave was supposed to do the painting and other small projects with Paul doing the stucco. Dave promised he wouldn't take on any other large projects in the meantime and that I would be his priority project. The only times I saw Dave from that point on were to collect money. He hired a brand new guy to paint our trim that did a terrible job- as Dave himself remarked once he told me he had fired him. He promised he would be back to fix the paint but he never came back and never did any of the other small projects he was contracted to do. Thank God for Paul who agreed to finish the job for the funds that Dave hadn't yet received. Paul's work is excellent and he saved the day. He is no longer working with Construction Specialties so beware in booking this company or Dave Conroy- you may end up paying for work that never gets done! PS Good luck getting any straight answers from Dave- if he doesn't like the question he will just tell you he can't hear you and hang up or just ignore your calls.

I had something fall through and Dave was able to come by on extremely short notice. From start to finish it was a very easy process. He went out of his way to explain what he was doing and to show me the process, even teaching me how to do a few additional things that would save me some trouble later down the road. All in all, he hammered out the entire job from start to finish in the first half of the day and gave me a fair price. I don't know a lot about stucco, but after painting I can't tell the difference from where the old texture ends and his starts. You never want to spend money on a project, but when you have to you want them to go as well as this one did. Thanks Dave!

Thank you Angelo for the kind words! That was a crazy storm that happened on that day when the wind whirled around and picked some of the stucco up and splattered it all over me! So I guess persistence is everything!

Dave did a great job. Nice work texturing and painting messy walls from my poor wallpaper removal (model home - no sizing was used). Good job protecting floors and cabinet spray areas and final clean-up.

Most things have to be visualized before pricing. Sometimes the project can be quoted over the phone.

I always want to set you at ease by showing you courtesy and explaining the process for completing the job.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Many years with the Union and hands-on experience. My family has Building Homes since the turn of the last century.
