Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Start ups, small businesses, law firms, realtors, artists, politicians, service providers. Beta launches, music, art & film releases, award shows, trade shows, concert tours, book signing tours, political campaigns & lobbying initiatives. I setup well mapped social media campaigns utilizing a custom set of available tools and applications across multiple digital, print and broadcasting and publishing channels.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Shop around and interview several. Beware of those in the business less than 5 years or offering "packaged" social media solutions.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. The biggest thing I tell every customer is to not to try to be on every social network out there. There are really just 5-6 primary ones then fill in with niche market networks beyond those.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What they will now have time to do that they've been spending attempting to keep up with the ever changing social media landscape. I can't tell you or any reader how important it is to let myself or another professional manage their social media efforts. One must focus on their core business!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Because Stephen G. Barr has been designing and administering social networks since 1996 and is an industry pioneer and less than a dozen people in the industry have the experience he has.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Making people feel good about themselves, their product, brand or business and presenting them to a targeted, .receptive audience of customers, fans and associates

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I really can't say publicly. I have tons of juicy stories to tell from my many years working in the music and adult entertainment industries.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. The proper use of social media to promote your brand doesn't need to be all that complicated. In fact, once we design your custom campaign and teach you how to use it you'll be able to maintain it on your own with only a few hours a week spent!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I started as a member then moderator of several niche Usenet groups back in the mid 90's. It was a hobby that grew into a career! Ive always been lucky in that all my vocations started out as avocations.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I am a lone wolf with over a dozen years in a five year old industry...fact, so I follow all the major rss feeds and monitor over 100 blogs, websites, forums and other media sources daily. I also work with developers during alpha and closed beta testing of new emerging technologies so I stay at least a year ahead of any continuing education courses or seminars that are out there at any given time. I do attend events & seminars covering some areas I may need to update my knowledge on especially those of a legislative or best practices nature.
