About myself: My name is Alex Smith. I am a certified personal trainer through the nationally accredited American Council on Exercise, and a graduate from Northern Arizona University, where I studied Health Psychology, Biology, Exercise Science, and Nutritional Science. My enthusiasm for general health and well-being began back when I was just a boy participating in every sport I could sign up for. During high school I ran cross country, and played lacrosse, football, tennis and volleyball. I have been helping family members and friends attain their health fitness goals since I was twelve years old, and have been training the public for a little over 12 years now. About 11 years ago I started my own business, At Your Door Personal Training. Since then I have built a team of expert Personal Trainers, and Yoga Instructors with a combined 40+ years of experience. Our main focus is IN HOME PERSONAL TRAINING AND YOGA We have all of the equipment, including exercise ball, medicine ball, Bowflex 1090 dumbbells, exercise mat, light, medium, and heavy exercise bands, ab roller, Iron Gym pull up bar, body weight exercise straps, and a Weight Guru scale that measures body weight, body fat%, as well as hydration level. However, if a client of ours is uncomfortable with us training them out of their home, we can train out of gyms near our clients as long as they permit it. Also, we offer a variety of online training options. We do the initial assessment free, and then have packages starting at 13 sessions. Our philosophy: We feel that exercise should be an exciting event and people should not dread going to the gym, which is why we chose to bring the “gym” to our clients. We like to keep our clients healthy and happy by implementing enjoyable exercise techniques with a positive attitude. People feed off of others emotions around them, which is why we always bring a smile and a sense of humor to each of my training sessions, while maintaining a genuine concern for the health and well-being of all of our clients. People will stay motivated as long as they are enjoying their exercise regimen, and we always ensure that my clients are motivated. We continue our education on exercise and health daily by reading the latest research and fitness news. We all also remain active in the gym and in the sports community by exercising 7 days a week whether we are strength training, practicing yoga, running or playing lacrosse, volleyball or tennis.

It’s really convenient to have a trainer come right to your front door! Alex is so knowledgeable and gives an amazing work out. I was having lower back pain and he adjusted my training session to compensate for it and I felt 100 times better afterwards!

We hired Alex 3 years ago after a period of inactivity post surgery left me in very poor shape and virtually unable to get up off the floor unaided (I can do that now!). We were both over 55 and were concerned that many programs and trainers would not take that into account. Additionally, I knew that I would not go to a gym. After much searching we settled on Alex due to the great recommendations that we read, several from older individuals. Alex has been everything that I hoped for and more. He is quietly encouraging (no DI here), always tells you how great you are doing, has hugely varied workouts (no boredom doing the same thing), extremely patient, and is very conscientious about any physical conditions (injuries, etc...) that may arise. (He went so far as to talk with a physical therapist to learn what specific stretches he could do to help.) He is flexible in scheduling to meet our constantly changing availability. While we have not taken full advantage of them, he has provided us with online workouts to do when we cannot meet with him. I am extremely pleased.

Alex is a great trainer! He listens to me and designs a workout just for me. He helps me with certain exercises and stretches to address my aches and pains.

Alex is awesome! My husband and I both train with him. He is always on time and very flexible with our schedules. He adapts the workouts to our individual needs and is always very accommodating with a change in the workout if we have any injuries bothering us. We feel he is extremely well priced, especially for the convenience of having someone come directly to us. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!
