A. By far our most popular and common job is wedding receptions. However, we have been asked to provide sweet treats for a number of baby showers, wedding showers and children's birthdays. Graduation parties are also a big draw. We have been honored to take part in a Make A Wish birthday celebration and we are active participants in Wish Upon a Wedding.
A. Ask lots of questions. Request a portfolio of pictures and design work. Research and ask for referrals. Make sure to compare apples to apples.
A. I wish that a customer would know that it is so much more relaxing and enjoyable to hire a professional to provide their candy buffet. We have the design experience, inventory and resources to make it amazing.
Insider secret - order early to get the most selections.
A. An estimated guest count and permission from the venue. It is also helpful to know if your reception is going to be held inside or outside. The last thing that can make the process of hiring a professional to create a custom candy buffet is to know what kind of buffet you are looking to create - nostalgic candy store, color matched, childhood favorites, etc.
A. Our goal is to create the image our couples have in their minds. We source our candies around the country and will find exactly what you are looking for.
A. Seeing the smiles of delight when we have made a dream reality - and of course the candy!
A. What candy choices do you recommend? We always recommend something sweet, something sour, a gummy or chewy choice, a hard candy and a mint.
How much candy does each person receive? We provide enough candy for every person to have one serving of each candy type.
A. We created a candy buffet for a 4 year old. We brought in gummy sharks, gummy dinos and personalized chocolates, along with temporary tattoos, stickers, rubber alligators and plastic dinosaurs. The best thing, when our guest of honor asked if the volcanos we used on the table for decor would really explode.
A. Arizona is hot! If you are having an outdoor reception, please place your buffet in the shade. Melted candy is no fun. Also, most black candy tastes like black licorice, if you don't like licorice, tell us!
Finally, candy is subject to vendor availability, just because a candy is desperately wanted does not mean it will be availaible. We do everything in our powers to source candy to every available vendor, but sometimes the sweet just is not obtainable.
A. We wanted a candy buffet for our wedding and tried to find someone willing to do it. We had tons of fun setting ours up, but realized it was a lot of work, especially for stressed out brides. Thus Sweet I Do's was born.
A. Right now lollicakes, cake pops and cupcakes are the all the rage. We provide them in a variety of flavors and styles. Just ask for our flavor lisitngs.
As new candies and treats are introduced requests for the more unusual items will become the norm. Candy companies are becoming more and more aware that colored and themed candy are big hits and they are beginning to market to this request.
I think self-serve yogurt will be the next big request and we are looking into partnering with a yogurt machine rental company and we'll provide all the yummy toppings!
