In the past 3 years Automotive Masters has worked on 4 of my vehicles. The first was a 84 VW Westfalia that no other shop could figure out the problem. They had it running perfect in one day. In the middle of August 2 yrs ago a 96 Suburban left me stranded me near downtown and they responded inside 2 hrs and replaced the fuel pump right on the side of the road. I was up and running that night, this year they replaced the clutch in my sons Mazda RX8, again same day. I currently have a 96 E350 Econoline with over 200,000 mile's, they have kept it in top shape and I expect another 100k. Bottom line Automotive Masters has fixed every automotive problem I have had for over three years in a very timely fashion, always for an excellent price and always a follow up to make sure the vehicle is performing well after the service. I have never had better service and would highly recommend. Mike Cummings 520-300-5180.

I have had Rob service my vehicles for the past 3 years and have always been satisfied. He bends over backwards to find the best prices on parts to be able to charge me a fair rate. His diagnosis is always correct and makes for confidence in my vehicles performance. If there is an issue he cannot fix, he has a list of resources and contacts to refer me to that I can trust.

Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. It is best to find a mechanic you respect and stick with him, the way most of us do with our personal doctors. This allows the technician to recommend a proper maintenance schedule, and in most cases can give valuable insight to foreseable future repairs. If you are caught in an unexpected vehicle crisis; and do not have a regular service provider; having a second opinion is not a bad idea.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Vehicle Maintenance is the key to a longer lasting, more reliable vehicle. Of course Engine Oil is one of the most Important Maintenance Items, but Transmission Fluid and Engine Coolant (antifreeze) rank high on the list as well.
You should use a 50/50 mix of Distilled Water and Coolant in your radiator for proper engine cooling. Never use water only in your radiator; unless it is an emergency and not for an extended amount of time-irregardless of your environmental temperatures outside. Always fill the Radiator And the Overflow Bottle, the system uses both. The Coolant should also be changed and/or flushed every 2 years. This is not a scam when shops recommend it, it really does prevent corrosion buildup in the cooling system. Watch your temperature gauge, and monitor all of your fluids periodically. ***Overheating an engine is the prime reason for failures.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I am educated, experienced, honest, and I guarantee my work for 12 months or 12 thousand miles.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I enjoy working with the public, as well as informing them on how to properly maintain their vehicles.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. Automobile repair and service is a very competitive industry. There is a industry standard on labor hours for every repair on each vehicle. If you acquire more than one estimate for the same repair on the same vehicle; each estimate should be for the same number of hours. The variance should only be the amount charged per labor hour, with the exception of parts. If a shop allows you to provide your own parts, you will deter additional markup charges. Using an ASE Certified mechanic assures that the technician has attended school and has hands on experience. Disclosing all information regarding the vehicle, to the mechanic you choose for your repair, will benefit everyone by reducing the amount of labor hours. It does not benefit anyone, customer or mechanic, to withhold info and compare each technicians final diagnostics.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Research the industry, interview a few mechanics, find a mentor, and choose an accredited school.
Q. What is your greatest strength?
A. My greatest strengths are the amount of knowledge I have as well as the years of experience in this industry.
