I am sincerely pleased to recommend Stephen Matthews of Cabinet Answers. I wanted to update my kitchen without spending a fortune by rearranging some cabinets and adding an under-cabinet microwave oven. I had several contractors and handymen come to look a the job but none of them got back to me with a bid. Stephen was recommended to me by the brother of a friend. He came to my house and looked at the project and got back to me with a reasonable bid within 24 hours. Steve did an excellent job of figuring out the best way to use the cabinets I had, and he added many custom touches such as making and installing a shelving unit and pantry door which gave the finished kitchen a very up-to-date and polished look. I am extremely pleased with Steve's work and I have been very impressed with his strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, his professionalism and his positive attitude. I recommend Stephen Matthews of Cabinet Answers very highly and I plan to use him for another project in the future.

Gave me an estimate of 250.00 at the outset without looking at the table. Then confused me with another client and the job would be 1200.00. I reminded him of his original estimate. Then, he asked for photos of the table I wanted done and requested me to send them by e-mail...Not sure how you can determine how involved the job would be, without coming out to look at the piece. About a week and a half later, the gentleman finally called with an 800.00 price based on some photos. A little flaky and a "fly by night" way of doing things to me. Maybe, Cabinet Answers is all about assembling and hanging cabinets and maybe they are fine craftsmen in that regard. But, they are not wood workers or good service and business, providers. Would have been nice if they were up front about that before they wasted my time.

Generally I arrive at a number by determining material cost + labor. Knowledge gained through many years of pricing jobs helps.

Discuss the job first. On site measure and materials selection is next. Then the order process and proposal signing. And finally the installation and completion process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Extensive experience in the cabinetry and countertop field that spans over 30 years.
