Jon is the teacher of world famous rockstar Barry Sparks, who played with many famous bands including The Scorpions, Yngwie Malmsteen, DOKKEN and Ted Nugent.

I specialize in taking intermediate and professional rock, pop, jazz, metal and blues players to a much higher level by making them understand guitar playing, and music in a deeper and more logical way.

I teach techniques, fretboard orientation, effective practicing, speed learning, multiple chord technique and theory in a way that will rapidly improve your playing and confidence on stage and in the studio, as well as help you find your own style.

I have been teaching for 34 years, and have had over 2000 students during that time.

I am the teacher of Barry Sparks, who was the bass player for Scorpions, Ted Nugent and DOKKEN. Barry was bass player for Yngwie Malmsteens Rising Force band.

Also taught world famous television star Ty Miller of the "Young Riders" TV series, and other celebrities.

At the age of 22, Jon was praised and recognized by world famous jazz artists Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and The Jeff Lorber Fusion Group.

A. Seeing a student reach way above his or her expectations and reach a new level of guitar playing. Helping a student understand what they have always been confused about.

A. How long have you been playing: I have been playing over 40 years.
How long have you been teaching: I have been teaching over 34 years.
Have you ever played gigs: Yes, I started playing professionally at the age of 12 and have a long history of playing in nightclubs, recording studios, big time concerts and on the road.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I am a self-taught guitarist that started at age 9 and was already playing gigs at the age of 12. I always knew that guitar was my life and future.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Plan on working very hard every day, develop a constant learning mode that seeks out new education and technique to further your guitar playing skills.
