FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was born into this line of work. My father always had a small construction co. so I started very young. I became a talented carpenter at a young age and moved into the remodeling field about 20+ years ago and I'm still here. I've been blessed with working w/ and learning from some great craftsman so I still enjoy walking away from a project that I am proud of and my client is happy with.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
For the past 4 or 5 years a large percentage of my work has been handyman work which would include smaller projects such as replacing doors and windows, counter tops, drywall repairs, roof repairs and replacing water heaters, faucets, ceiling fans and light fixtures. Periodically I get jobs like bath remodels ( tubs, tile, plumbing, vanities, solid surface tops etc...), enclosing carports, remodeling kitchens ( cabinets, electrical, installing appliances, garbage disposals, crown mold, paint...). I have also been and worked for multiple property owners taking care of all of their maintenance, turns (getting a property ready to rent after a tenant moves out) and landscaping. Being able to do a wide variety of jobs makes me going to work each day just that much more enjoyable.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I can honestly say that if I am not particularly proud of the job that I just completed than it's not completed and I have more work to do. I am my toughest critic and if I'm not satisfied then I'm not done. Most customers appreciate that and it plays a major part in me getting referrals. Sometimes it cuts into my profit margin. But it still has to be done right!
