Mehndi is a temporary art done on the body with henna. Henna powder is derived from a plant (actually a bush), Lawsonia inermis, commonly found in the Middle East and other areas where the climate is hot and dry. The bush is harvested, dried, and then crushed to make henna powder.
Henna is a natural plant dye which will stain your skin for a week to two weeks with which ever design is applied to the skin.
At first it is a bright orange stain which will darken to a dark brown stain in 24 to 48 hours. If care is taken with the henna design it can last up to 14 days.
I have been doing henna for over 10 years and I have been an artist for well over 30 years. I book private sessions or parties. I also attend local events i.e.: street fairs, farmer markets and gallery openings.
Many customer love the freedom to have different designs applied over time and none of them are permanent. Also I have had many who like the design so well they go and have a real tattoo done of the design.
I do not use black henna! Please ask before having a henna to make sure you are receiving a true henna design applied.
My rates if I have to travel to you are based on an hour setting fee.
When booking a private henna session it based on a hourly rate plus travel fee if I have to travel to you outside of the Tucson Metropolitan area.
Parties are booked with a two hour time frame or more ( no exceptions) If the party is larger then 10 guest a second henna artist is schedule with an additional fee for this.
Please if you are calling for rates consider the time you are calling.

A. Applying henna designs for clients wanting to see if a tattoo will look good. Before getting a perminate tattoo.
A henna design will last anywhere between 10 days to 3 weeks.
A. Birthday parties, Baby Showers and Weddings are all in the top three recent jobs. But not limited to just these events. I also am available for corporate events as well.
A. Important questions to ask a Henna Artist, what do you put in your henna paste? DO you make your own henna?
What color is the stain when the paste comes off?
If any of the answers are black henna then I highly recommend you do not hire this henna artist....Henna is a natural plant which produces a Bright orange stain just after the paste is removed over the next few days it proceeds to get darker to an almost dark chocolate color. Black henna is not made for the skin! It is not recommended!!
Be safe and get a henna artist who knows the art of Menhdi.
