Introduction
I grew up in a family of photographers, so I've had a camera in hand as long as I can remember. I started taking headshots because friends needed them and I discovered that the process was something I really loved. Capturing people at their best is something that continues to excite me. As an actor, I know how important a good headshot is. I also know that getting headshots can be an overwhelming and stressful experience. There are SO many photographers out there and the costs can be insane. How do you choose who is right for you? From doing headshots and portraits, I've also had the pleasure of transitioning into wedding, event and production photography, which is another area of photography that I find incredibly fulfilling. No matter what the circumstance, I love capturing people and moments. I've been through this process many times and I know it well. My goal as a photographer is to create a fun and comfortable environment and to produce shots that are the very essence of people at their best. If you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call or email. I am always available to talk about the process and give you recommendations, whether you chose to use my services or not. Weddings: Wedding photography is a world that I am so thrilled to have become a part of. Getting to share in that kind of love and joy on a regular basis is such an amazing experience. I am so lucky and so thankful that this is my job. My goal is to be there to capture your amazing day exactly as you want it and to help you create those memories that you will delight in for the rest of your lives. Planning a wedding can be stressful, expensive and incredibly time consuming. I completely understand that. Because of that I offer a number of different wedding packages to cover all needs and budgets, from a few hours of photos right up to a full day and night complete with a beautiful hardcover wedding album delivered right to you in the weeks after the ceremony. Part of the fun is figuring out just what kind of package works for you, so please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss absolutely any aspect of the process. Once we figure out what you need, I can give you an accurate price quote for my services. It would be my absolute pleasure to get to be a part of your big day! Please flip through my recent work and contact me if you'd like to see a more extensive portfolio.

I happened across Barcsay Photography, although I usually take recommendations. However, I am thankful I went ahead and booked a session. Katherine is accommodating, ever helpful and ready to make the session the best it can be. She has an eye for detail and really knows her stuff. The service was efficient and the turnover of pictures, were quick. The only improvement, it wouldn't hurt to have a mirror on set to check for offending hairs/makeup because sometimes its easier than airbrushing. But I have received numerous comments on my headshots and know these will take me far. However, I give Katherine full marks alone for her patience (!) and would not hesitate to book her again.

It was fantastic, I was in a rush to get my pictures done and she worked with me soon as possible, sent me the photos right away and they were good photos. I've had headshots done before which could be very awkward, but Katherine's we're not. The day was quick, fun, relaxing, and easy. I highly recommend her.

Working with Katherine is fun and efficient. She is really cool and relaxed and understands what you're looking for. This is my second time shooting with her and it was great. She emailed me and online photo album with every single picture taken on the same day of the shoot. She's great :)

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I grew up in a family of photographers, so I've had a camera in hand as long as I can remember. I started taking headshots because friends needed them and I discovered that the process was something I really loved. Capturing people at their best is something that continues to excite me. From there I began to really explore my camera and learn all about what I could do with it. I'm at my happiest taking photos, be they landscape, art, portraits or events. No matter what, I'm so happy to be continuing to learn and grow in this profession.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

As a photographer who works in a number of different areas, this answer changes depending on my client. No matter what, my goal at the end of the day is to make my clients happy. If there is something you need to make you feel more comfortable about the process, I will do my absolute best to ensure that it gets done.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Do your research. It's a saturated market and finding out who is right for you can take time. Look at a lot of photographer's portfolios and contact them all. Rates aside, it is very important that the photographer that you hire is someone who you feel comfortable with. It's a personal thing. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions even if you think they're silly. I can almost guarantee you that they aren't.
