- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price according to scope of the project. Press releases, bios, fact sheets, advisories range from $200-750. Distribution $300/market. Media list building $300. Marketing/Business Plans (vary). Hourly rate $75. Monthly starting at $3000.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a news junkie. I read everything. But I subscribe to a lot of public relations sites, I engage in conversations on Linked In, Twitter and Facebook and talk to my contemporaries.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It actually decided for me! I started my career in radio doing promotion that led to a label gig. When I decided to go to graduate school, I started black & blue star as a writing/promotion company to bring in some spare money while I concentrated on my studies. Through word of mouth over those two years, my business grew and here we are today.
