Pregnant? Who's your doula?
B*E*S*T Doula provides the information you need to make good decisions about your pregnancy and birth, and will support you and your decisions, without judgment, wherever and however you choose to give birth. B*E*S*T Doula knows how to work with your doctor, nurses and/or midwife to help you have the kind of birth you want.
B*E*S*T Doula Service includes a wonderful group of birth and postpartum doulas trained in birth hypnosis (a.k.a hypno birthing), Reiki, spinning babies, birthing from within, Bradley and/or Lamaze techniques. We also offer photography services, written time-stamped notes of the important events during your labor and birth, and an invoice for your insurance company. Many B*E*S*T clients' have been reimbursed for up to 70% of the cost of services.
A. It's a great idea to meet with or talk with as many doulas as you have time for. Every doula offers something unique, and you owe it to yourself to have the best doula for YOU. What is most important to us is that you have a doula even if it means that we need to help you find someone else.
A. The presence of a doula during your labor can reduce the need for a surgical birth (c-section) by 40-60%. Your copayment for a surgical birth may be less than the doula's fees, and you may be reimbursed for up to 70% of your doula's fees by your insurance company. Even without reimbursement, you can save money by hiring a doula to prevent unnecessary and costly procedures. These charges include the cost of the anesthesiologist, the additional days mother and baby spend in the hospital, additional tests and procedures required for a baby born via surgery and the cost of postpartum help while the new mother recovers from major abdominal surgery.
A. How many births have you attended? Have you ever worked at the hospital I've chosen? Have you ever worked with my doctor or midwife? Do you have experienced backup?
A. What do you already know about labor and birth? What are you biggest fears and concerns? Who else will be at your labor and birth and how do you feel about having them there?
