FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Mark Richardson, the company's founder and certified machinery and equipment appraiser was awarded the Master Certified Machinery and Equipment Appraiser Designation in September 2011. This professional recognition is held by less than 5% of certified machinery and equipment appraisers.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

National Equipment Appraisal provides services for banks, CPA's, attorneys and business owners. Our clients hire us to help with equipment values for collateral, loans, divorce, gift taxes, trusts, estate planning, merger and acquisitions, business sales, and asset sales. We also help businesses turn idle assets into cash through an extensive network of dealers and business owners.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Many potential clients ask for "Desktop Appraisals" because they think it will save money. Yes, we provide this type of service but we recommend against it because our appraiser cannot make a true, independent judgement of condition, age and remaining useful life without physically seeing the asset. Consequently, we price our services to include inspection and in most cases at no additional fee to our client.
