Hello my name is Colin Mitchell and have been studying music for the past 12 years. I come from a very musical family. My personal musical backround starts with jazz and Latin drumming, both on the drum set and other forms of percussion (djembe, bongos etc.) It's where I built a foundation to learn and grow with all other styles of music such as fusion, rock, blues, salsa, bossanova, reggae, metal, indie, folk, trip hop, basically all styles of music I have strongly adapted to, and would love to spread the knowledge and gift of all music.
I not only teach the dynamics and fundamentals of the drums but also the theory of music. That would include how to read music, the analysis of music (analyzing music scores or pieces or even just audio). but if that is not part of your goal or is not in your plans thats okay to! Anything that has to do with teaching music, even how to just play your favorite songs is definatly something I am strong at. It doesnt matter what style or what it is, I believe that teaching music will always better myself as a person and musician to! If you are someone who would like help with ONLY theory practice that is 20 dollars an hour. I prefer not to do less than an hour of theory work. I am located in Berkeley.
