Music has been my life ever since I was a small child. Growing up the daughter of an Irish diplomat, I have lived all over the world, which has given great depth to my musical education and ear. I strive to stay abreast of the latest thinking regarding learning and pedagogy, while also pushing the boundaries of harp composition and performance. I believe everyone has something musical to say, and the key is to access beginner's mind as motivation. Listening is the ultimate way to make beautiful music, and a beautiful life, for that matter! I love seeing someone delighted by the beautiful music they can create, and the empowerment and positivity they bring to the world as a result. I love seeing how surprised and joyful people are to discover what is already inside them, and giving them the tools to express this.

Diana is a wonderful piano teacher. She has taught both my daughters for years. She finds out what music they like and then teaches them thru that. She is always encouraging and positive. I think my daughter is benefiting greatly from Diana's lessons.

I have been taking harp lessons with Diana over the past few years. Diana is such an inspiring instructor that I travel almost 60-90 minutes each way to go to her class. She is the most caring, fully present and motivating instructor who listens, tailors her method toward the student's interests and skills that makes the whole learning experience a true joy! She has her own magical and unique way to get the pure musical interest out of the student to help him/her practice and meanwhile enjoy music! She is always available on email to answer any additional questions and sends music materials to enhance the learning experience. Her music background is also very international which makes this teaching/learning a very special experience. I consider myself very lucky to find her as my music instructor!

Diana Rowan is one of the best teachers I have ever had! She gives me just the right amount of challenge and encouragement. I am learning the harp and she has been precise in teaching me just what I need to go forward. She is helping me with my problem of stage fright as well as my musicianship. I am ecstatic about her as a teacher!

Two things: one, hire the very best quality teacher you can, preferably a teacher who also actively performs. An experienced teacher will help you progress faster, more solidly, and with more confidence than an inexperienced teacher. Secondly, have an introductory lesson to make sure the chemistry is right between teacher and student. Teaching is often a long-term relationship, and you want to make sure you are a powerful match!
