Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. First ask yourself, do you believe you're paying too much, too little, or just the right amount of tax? Often times, many clients are not even sure of the question because their accountant or CPA has not taken the time to properly educate their clients on the many generous deductions that are offered in the tax code.
Our Los Angeles based CPA firm, located in Beverly Hills, takes the time necessary to consider and discuss all available tax planning and return preparation techniques that often times help them save tax dollars well above their fees.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I often see new clients who complain that their prior accountants were not timely responsive to returning emails or phone calls. While this kind of lack of response is quite frustrating to the clients, in many cases I find there is a larger problem in that their professionals are simply not putting the necessary time into gaining an understanding of the client's business or entire financial scenario, which can lead to missed deductions and errors that involve IRS notices being received.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. 1. How can an accountant or CPA help you keep more of your hard earned tax dollars in your pocket?
2. Who in the firm will be working on your account? Will it be high level management or partners or lower level staff? The level of expertise of the person working on your account often times has a huge effect on the overall outcome of your returns.
