Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Wedding, Boudoir & Travel Photography. That's what I focus on. I do them all because they compliment each other. A destination wedding with a boudoir session in the package is my trifecta. :)
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Before hiring a photographer you hire a personality. Make sure that you first hire a photographer because you like him/her and that you click together. Then hire him/her for their photography. It's important because if you like your photographer they will be able to bring out the best in you and that will always show up in your photography.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Spending time with happy people! A wedding is one of the most exciting events in a persons life. Working with these amazing people at such an important point in their lives makes me extremely grateful that they choose me to be a part of their lives. One of my favorite parts is when it's time to dance. Everyone is in a great mood and I love capturing that with my photography.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Sure do.
I had a bride that came to me one day and told me that her husband to be didn't believe that they needed to hire a professional photographer for their wedding. He thought that it wasn't important to capture those moments because he would always remember them in his head. She didn't agree with his philosophy. So after a bit of back and forth he told her that he would agree only if she did a boudoir session for him. Luckily that was my specialty. We did the boudoir session and when it came to present him the album he came up to me very serious. As you might imagine I didn't know what was going to come next. And then he just gave me a big hug!! He told me that he loved the photography and that he was very glad that his wife had talked him into hiring me. I was so honored.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. That it is an art but an art that takes time and discipline. Anyone can buy a camera and shoot some images but being able to capture an event as important as a wedding takes an eye and planning. You have to look at the big picture and look down the road so that when you have a finished product it's one that your couple will cherish for the rest of their time together.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Absolutely. I attend a few photography conferences every year to learn about the latest trends and equipment.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. Every photographer is going to have a different pricing system. I customize all my packages from the ground up to tailor the needs and wants of my brides. I try and make it as simple as possible that way all my brides know exactly what they are getting with their packages with no surprises.
