In one word: AMAZING. I recently competed in my first two figure competitions. The make up and hair is extremely important to overall presentation, and must withstand up to 18 hours from start to finish, under intense stage lighting. Verna did both my hair and make up for both shows. My make up was absolutely flawless. This is a very difficult aspect for many because the competition tanner used on our bodies has a deep pigment and can be difficult to match on face and neck. If not matched properly, it looks terrible on stage under harsh stage lighting, and even worse in photographs. Verna knew this, and matched my make up perfectly, using a specialized airbrush technique. She is certified in this, whereas many make up artists are not, and boy did her artistry show! She used colors to compliment my hair and posing suit, and made me look and feel absolutely beautiful. My hair which NEVER holds a curl, withstood 18 hours through a day and night show, and my make up requires nothing more than a reapplication of lipstick at night. My pictures...beautiful! I can't say enough good things about Verna and her talent. She is professional to a tee, knowledgeable, and very intuitive when it came to making suggestions that would work best for my particular event. I'm two for two in hitting it out of the ballpark with Verna's help, and I plan to work with Verna for all my upcoming shows and any other events that require a real pro and make up artistry. I highly recommend her; she's the BEST and better yet, a super sweet person to work with.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've worked in corporate business for over 10 years and attained my Masters in Business Management/Administration. As a Senior Program Analyst for a large corporation and not being able to spend time with my family I decided to take a risk and get certified in Makeup Artistry and learn proper techniques and sanitation over time and it's been a success ever since. I'm doing something I'm passionate about and I could still spend time with my family.
