Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Well what I do when I hire someone to work around or at my house is find out if they are licensed and insured. Then run their license to see if there are any claims against them. If possible run a background check to make sure they are legit. Then make sure you read the service agreement and understand what it covers and what it doesn't cover. Find out how long they have been doing this. I don't ask for references because they are not going to give you the name of some one who will give them a bad reference so why even bother. It's better just to research them through the BBB or a consumer affairs website. That's what I would do anyway.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Pet sitting, dog walking, and pet waste removal is a pretty basic easy to do thing. I mostly help people who don't have time for whatever reason to take care of their pet. There isn't any real secrets that I know of to share. Someone who does what I do just has to know how to handle animals. I grew up on a farm and have had different pets all my life so it's pretty much second nature to me. I can handle horses and cows to hamsters and turtles. No job is too big or too small.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. If you have the time I would shop around, get different rates and quotes, See what everyone offers and make sure it' what you want at a price you can afford. I personally tailor my services to each individual customers needs so no two customers get the exact same service. I find this adds a personal touch to things and people like knowing that they are special and their pet is getting special service that no other pet is getting.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. They should consider whether they can afford it or not. Professional help with anything isn't cheap. I know people that love their dog for example, but they work all the time and when they get home from work their dog has been in the house all day and they are too tired to take the dog for a walk. This is a perfect example of when you should think of hiring me to come over and play with your dog a little and give your dog at least a half hour walk for exercise, maybe clean up the dog waste or yard while I'm there, water the plants, so you can come home from a long day at work and just relax and enjoy your pet's company.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I tailor my services to the specific needs of the client. You feel like an individual instead of just another customer. I go to great lengths to make sure that you are absolutely satisfied with the work I do and you pet is as happy and as healthy as can be. I'm also always offering special deals on my rates and discounts on services for referrals. I like to make everything fun and enjoyable for all.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love dealing with the different pet owners and working with all the different animals. I can go on forever with all kinds of examples, but I'll stop here. Everyone has such a different personality and so do their pets. It just fascinates me. In addition, getting paid for doing something that's fun and easy also helps.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. FAQ:
Do I have pets? Boy do I have pets! I have a 150 gallon and 37 gallon fresh water fish tanks. A 90 gallon and 47 gallon salt water fish tank with bueatiful coral. 4 cats, 2 dogs, and have a collection of Bonsia trees.

Can I board your dog? No, I'm currently not set up for boarding or doggy day care. I come to your home and check to make sure you pets okay with food and water and hang out for a bit to play if you want. If you need me to stay at your house and sort of house sit while I pet sit, it can be arranged at times as my schedule permits.

Do I care for any other animals besides dogs? Yep, I can care for most usual pets that people have such as fish cats, rabbits, turtles, hamsters...animals like that. I can clean bird cages and take care of birds, but they are loud and sometimes anoying.
