About
Empowering the actor to develop their own way of working, encouraging them to develop a reliable tool box of physical skills, help them quickly discern what is required of them for the scene, monologue, commercial bit, camera moment, etc., and giving them the opportunity to practice in a safe nurturing environment along with others who have varied backgrounds, professional experience and training and all share a love and respect for the craft of acting. There is a huge international presence in my class with students from all over the world, all with their own understanding of what acting is. I love the mix of cultures, ethnicities, each individual representing the varied types of education and training they have been exposed to before tackling Hollywood where they all share "the dream."

The Sport of Acting is THE place to learn. Vinny is a working actor himself and our audition technique classes are always current. Vinny responds to each individual students needs and I have often used techniques learned in class on set, in auditions and in my prep.

Although I have known Vinny as a friend and fellow actor for many years, it was only recently that I got to know him as a teacher and acting coach. He is a wonderful resource whose class is full of fun and incredible opportunities to grow as an actor. Vinny knows all about the rigors of being a working actor onstage, in films and TV and he shares his insights and experiences in a way that makes them accessible for the inexperienced actor, as well as, the seasoned professional. Every class is challenging and exciting. Audit a class and find out for yourself.

One of the first things you notice about Vinny is his passion for actors and acting. He creates a supportive, safe and fun classroom - or "gym" - to work out in, where, with Vinny's astute direction, his students can dare to take risks and push their comfort zone: the only way to grow and become a better actor. Vinny brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked with some of the greats of film and stage, and as a working actor he also shares current experiences of auditions, bookings and the business of acting. I recently produced a stage show and drew my ensemble of actors entirely from Vinny's class; their passion, talent and work ethic is a testament to the kind of people drawn to Sport and the way of working it engenders. I would recommend Vinny and The Sport of Acting to anyone.

As a newcomer to the 'sport of acting,' my time with Vinny has been time well spent. I believe he's done a great job as teacher, coach and friend, improving both my understanding of acting and my acting skills. I think the intelligence, experience and enthusiasm he brings to the table invaluable.

More than just an acting class, The Sport of Acting is one of the highlights of my week. Our regular classes have given me great confidence approaching scenes and monologues, and the on-camera classes/mock auditions have been invaluable too. What this class has that no other class can offer though...is Vinny. He's got serious chops and he's a great communicator, capable of distilling information into readily-applicable packages. More importantly he's a great guy who inspires in a way (truly) no one else can. Check it out!
