FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As far as pricing goes, please bear in mind that there are two costs: my costs (what you pay me to design and launch the site) and then there are auxiliary services (such as hosting and domain name registration) that will need to be paid directly to those providers. At this time, I do not provide hosting or domain name registration myself, but I build all my websites on the Squarespace platform which provides both hosting and domain registration.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will start with a free, zero-pressure phone consultation where we can bounce ideas around for your new website and you can tell me a little more about your business goals and what problems a website will solve for your business. Then I go about designing and building the site, using current web standards and design trends. When the site is finished, we'll launch your site and I'll record some helpful tutorial videos showing you how to use the Squarespace platform to edit and maintain your website.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been helping my clients launch their online businesses and optimize their digital presence since 2008. Since then, I’ve created websites for accountants, coaches, consultants, solo entrepreneurs, therapists, bakers, bloggers, actors, artists, and bands. When I began building websites, I taught myself how to hand-code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. But I soon discovered a better option: the Squarespace platform. Like many designers, I also worked with Wordpress, Weebly, and a few other platforms, but I kept coming back to Squarespace. Several years ago I made the decision to put all of my new clients on Squarespace and I haven't looked back since. Not only do I love it, my clients love it just as much as I do, if not more!
