My Philosophy

My name is Robert Linton. It is my goal to help you create a relationship with your dog built on mutual trust and respect. Your dog is a member of your family and should be treated as such. All dogs benefit from a leader who is kind, fair, and consistent. Good leaders teach manners and insist on polite behavior. When you have established yourself as the leader, your dog will strive to respond to your direction.

As a positive trainer, I believe in using dog-friendly methods that engage a dog's natural temperament, abilities, and drives. When training is rewarding, dogs want to participate and learn; they also retain more.

Why Customized Training?

Every dog is a unique individual. Some are shy, some are energetic, some are dominant, some behaviorally challenged. During the consultation, I consider such factors as your dog's temperament, breed, age, sex, general health, and history, and use this information to create a customized training plan that addresses obedience and behavior concerns. Techniques and tools can be adapted to suit individuals or situations as needed. Even the youngest members of the family can be involved!

My Background

I bring my extensive experience in obedience training and behavioral consulting/modification of 25 years and a genuine enthusiasm and sincere love of dogs to the training process.

My interests are family companion animal training, behavior modification, and holistic health/nutrition for canines.
