Orene was efficient, intuitive, and has a great eye. We edited my existing wardrobe, jettisoned that which was out of date, no longer fit, or was just not attractive on me. A couple of weeks later we shopped for replacement pieces (I hate to shop, but Orene is a pro) and I have a great new wardrobe that stayed within my budget and our allotted time.

I was looking for an image consultant because I am updating my website and wanted to be sure my image was updated too! Orene came highly recommended and now I know why! Orene has been a great help to me in learning about what styles work for my body and what colors. Since I have had her help I regularly receive compliments which is very nice! I especially appreciate that Orene teaches me as we go when we are shopping. That way, I feel very empowered and confident to shop on my own and take what I have learned back to my closet! I have worked with her twice once for my winter update and recently for spring/summer. I also appreciate that she is very thoughtful and sensitive to my budget and frugal nature!

n late August, my husband and I were about to leave for a trip back East for a black-tie family wedding, followed by 2 weeks in Europe. I was in a fashion panic. Fortunately, Orene came to the rescue and everything worked out fabulously. Despite her own impending trip, she took the time to take me through her valuable image assessment process, then whisk me through a mall, where she helped me pick exactly the right things to take on the trip - and wear afterwards. She is truly wonderful to work with - discerning but nonjudgmental, astute, creative, unflappable, and with great taste. And she even brought snacks! I've lost weight since our session. The bad news - nothing fits. The good news - more shopping! And, of course, I plan to work with Orene. I can't recommend her highly enough.

I recently hired Orene for her Image Assessment and Closet Audit. I am stepping up in my business and in life and was ready to know how to put outfits together for the image I want to portray, and what worked for me and what didn't. It was an awesome experience.

Orene has a process that helps you identify the image you want to portray, your body type, and the colors that would work well for you and when, plus much more. She is professional, adorable herself (so put together!) and awesome to work with. We went through my entire wardrobe and now everyday I feel and look fabulous. If you haven't done this yet, it is a MUST for every woman who cares about making a difference in the world. Thank you Orene.

It was a delight to work with Orene. I write for a teacher's magazine, and Orene helped me with a "back-to-school" fashion spread for teachers. She took them shopping and helped them find flattering and affordable outfits that made them look stylish and professional at the same time. She was patient and non-judgmental with clients and helped them feel good about themselves. Her goal was to help them find outfits that fit their personalities and pocketbooks. Several said they were "transformed" by the experience. I would highly recommend Orene if you or someone you know needs help in the wardrobe department. She does an amazing job and it helps that she brings a sense of fun to her work.

  • I have some news. I was the stylist for the feature article and cover of California Educator Magazine, September 2012, titled, "Dressing for Success on a Budget".
They gave me four teachers of every body type and style, and asked me to dress them. Here is a quote by me in the article: "To start with, I asked them their likes, dislikes, interests and teaching approach," says Kearn, a certified image consultant. "I wanted them to take away more than just an outfit from this experience. I wanted them to take away knowledge about the kinds of styles that work well for each one of them. I wanted them to feel good about themselves, and I wanted their outside to match how wonderful they are on the inside. I think that was accomplished."

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I suggest having an initial phone conversation to see if your potential image consultant is the right fit for you and she really listens to what you have to say. See if you can relate to her, if you like her approach to tackling your challenges and concerns, if her approach works with your expectations and if she can work within your budget. Since self-image is so personal and an image consultant works closely with you in the dressing room, feeling completely comfortable with and trusting your image consultant is essential. It helps if your personalities click as well and that your time together will be enjoyable.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My technique for image consulting goes above and beyond appearing trendy or stylish -- it cuts to the core of who you are. My goal is to have clients feeling confident about the image they present in every situation. Figuring out who you are is a daunting task and I am proud to have developed a program to make it an uplifting and positive experience.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish customers knew that image and wardrobe consultants can save you money in many ways. Too many of my clients spend for items they never wear because they have nothing to go with them, or they bought them on sale, or their clothes don't fit properly, or their friends who have different personalities convinced them to buy the item. I make sure that everything in their closets work, and that their wardrobes are versatile and each item looks terrific on them. I also am extremely focused when we go shopping to stick with the shopping game plan and budget, and to not get sidetracked.
