Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ideally you will find an agent or broker who is independent, objective, and experienced. This increases your chances of receive the best recommendation possible.

When an insurance agent is independent, they have the ability to shop with multiple insurance carriers, not just one or two.

When an insurance agent is objective, they truly are looking out for your best interest. They will make recommendations based on what's best for you, not what is best for them (ie. higher commissions).

An experienced agent will have the knowledge necessary to give you sound advice based on prior transactions.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are many insurance carriers and many plans available.

I would want access to all that are available.

I would want recommendations bases on benefits & price, not the commission level paid to the agent.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How long have you been in this business?

Do you work for an insurance company or are you independent?

How do I know you will make recommendations that are best for me?

Do you have any references or testimonials from your clients?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Check the internet to gather more information on the person you are considering working with.
