I am a holistic healthcare practitioner who has been serving the healthcare and pain relief needs of Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Capitola, Soquel, Aptos, Watsonville, Pebble Beach, and the greater Monterey Bay & South Bay Areas for the past 25 years. My practice includes Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Cranial Sacral & Massage Therapy, and Structural Integration. Relief from pain, greater ease of movement, openness in the breath, and faster recovery from injuries, are just a few of the many benefits of a unique blend of these therapies.

Clients who receive this work for many different kinds of structural pain issues, especially of the neck, shoulders and back, claim to have immediate results that last (see 'Testimonials' on my website). Chronic pain in these areas is oftentimes due to strain and injury from 'repetitive use patterns', such as computer use. The pain relief that results from just a few sessions of this unique blend of therapies can be permanent, with only occasional "tune-ups" to remind the body of an easier way to be.

Relief of this kind does not usually result from bone manipulations, or acupuncture treatment alone. Since the connective tissue layer of the body seems to 'remember' any injury or strain, it needs to be coaxed into releasing its hold on the bones so they can then return to their natural alignment without further trauma. This combination of gentle acupuncture and bodywork therapies work together to do just that.

Treatment begins with opening the connective tissue in the upper body, while at the same time contacting the fluid tides of the cranial sacral system. The combination of these methods allows the client to release long-held tensions more easily.

Migraines, Headaches, degenerative changes of the Neck and Spine, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Temporal Mandibular Joint Syndrome, most often respond quickly to this combined method of treatment.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. People who have a health problem, or chronic pain issue, should look for someone who specializes in their particular issue. For instance, a person with neck pain can usually expect a decrease in pain by 25-50% after one treatment with me. The same is true for carpal tunnel syndrome and sometimes, upper back and shoulder pain.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Most of us need to be carefully listened to, and ultimately, have our health concerns heard and attended to with caring and compassion.

Most people also need to be touched and have their practitioner take the time to feel the physical places that are painful. Touch is healing, in and of itself.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How people have they treated with their particular condition? Have these clients experienced relief, and if so, how many sessions did it take for them to feel relief?

How many clients do you see in an hour?
I see one client at a time, and work with my clients for their entire session, which is usually 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1-1/2 hours.
