Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Repairs and cleaning. In some cases all new venting systems.Because of lack of maintaining there venting system. Some end up needing new ones. That is why maintaining your dryer vent line is important.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Make sure they are a professional. Do not just hire someone off the streets. I have been to a lot of jobs where someone else had cleaned the vent line. And they broke stuff and cost the customer more to fix the stuff that was broke. Had it been done right the first time. It would of saved them money and undo damage.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. The most common mistake i see people make. Is not checking for proper licensing or contractor number. A lot of people just let anybody check there dryer venting systems. Then i get a call and go check. To see the line is still dirty.Or there is fire hazards that the customer was not warned about. The answer.Use a professional that has credentials and knows what he is doing.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. If a company says yes we just come out and clean and leave. Run fast because that is not the service you want are deserve. There is a lot more that needs to be done than clean and leave. I do not have enough room to put it all down. That is why you should make sure to hire a professional. When you have legal problems do you ask a lawyer how to represent yourself. No it would take years for them to explain it to you. Because they are educated threw schooling. That is why you hire them.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. No one has the service we do. We also work with the national fire prevention association. To help people reduce dryer fires. We really care about peoples safety. We do though-ell inspections to look for hazards and to make sure everything is up to code. We are licensed contractors for dryer venting # 943017. And C-DET certified dryer exhaust technicians. We know what to look for and how to fix it right.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I don't just like i love my job. Because i love helping others. It is great to educate people and then see them do the things that i showed them. That is the most rewarding. Because i know there chances of having a dryer fire. Are reduced drastically.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Why is my dryer not drying? The appliance guy said my dryer is fine? Because each load of cloths has about half a gallon of water in it. When there is lint in the vent line. It will stop anything from getting threw. Like water, air, heat, etc. In most cases the dryer is fine if caught early enough.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. A customer called me and said i had someone fix my vent line. I would like you to check it for me to make sure it was done right. So i went out and checked the vent line to see. They did not put the vent line together properly. They did not hang it or insulate it properly. And they did not clean the old line they left properly. I showed them the burnt lint from the vent line that had caught on fire. They said we thought that was mildew. They were very lucky they had me check it. And fix it properly. Because it could of very easily spread to the rest of the house. If it would of happened again.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. That i care and i know what to look for.And how to fix it right. Because i am a professional. I offer a service unlike any other. I love what i do.Most people doing this line of work. Work for someone else and they do not like it.And they do not do good service.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. Because i realized the need for qualified, licensed, certified individuals. There are a lot of fly by night companies out there. Are companies that offer so many services that they can not keep up with them all. Are give good service. With no licensing. No certifications. Basically a lot of unqualified people. Giving people terrible service. That is the main reason i started this business.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. I am proud of all the jobs i do. Because everyone of the jobs means. That is one more person that i am helping to reduce dryer fires. In are community. That makes me proud of what i do.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes i stay certified and licensed. I also stay up to date on codes for dryer venting. I want to be able to give people the service they deserve. And let them know what problems they have are do not have. If you are not educated in dryer venting how can you.
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. There is a new lint alarm. That tells you when to clean your vent line. It is called Lint alert. This is very good for people that want to know when there vent line needs to be cleaned.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. Well i have had a lot of projects. Some involve a lot of work. And some do not. The pricing is reasonable. The time varies on the work done. There is a lot of things that can be wrong with dryer venting systems.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. It is not complicated. There just has to be an inspection. Then we can tell you how much it will be.Because pricing is determined on what you need to have fixed. We do not know what you have wrong without looking to see first.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Do not just jump in to it. Research it. There is a lot more to it. Than what it looks like.If it is not good service to the customer. Do not wast your time. There is already to many of those companies out there.
Q. Write your own question and answer it.
A. Would you like the job done right the first time. Are would you like to be told later. That it is going to cost a lot more because it was not done right. I think we all know the answer to that question.
