Very very disappointing. I got a massage for my pregnant wife as a mother's day gift. My wife specifically requested deep tissue massage, so that is what I asked for. I exchanged a few emails with Brigette who assured me that they would do whatever she needs. Below are a few excerpts of what was promised in Brigette's emails and what was actually delivered: Brigette: "Hello, Our price rates are usually $55.00 for one hour pregnancy massage. We sideline position her to keep her comfortable, put a pillow between her legs and one underneath her neck." First off, Brigette didn't even do the massage, and it was communicated to my wife that because she was pregnant, Taylor would be doing the massage instead. I am not sure what that was about. My wife tells me she was on her stomach for 45 minutes during her appointment. Granted she isn't that far along, but I find that inappropriate if somebody is pregnant. Brigette: "We have very friendly and professional environment." There was a client who used the same table right before my wife and it was obvious that the sheets on the massage table were not changed in-between. I find that unhygienic and unprofessional. On the deep-tissue massage that was originally requested: Brigette:"Would she want to just feel out the pressure of therapist before she chooses to go deep. The reason why I'm saying that is because the therapists already have strong hands, and I always like to tell people to check the pressure first. If she doesn't normally get massages, I would recommend not going deep, and just getting a firm therapeutic massage, targeting any area of complaint she might have. I know she would be happy." My wife was not happy. My wife's main issue with the quality of the massage was that the therapist did not have strong hands. She barely applied any pressure at all and she said she could not go deep even when requested. I could have given my wife a better massage by doing it myself. They ended up not charging us for a deep tissue massage, just a regular one. Unfortunately, this is a small comfort since the end result is that the massage didn't do anything to ease my wife's aches and pain. It was a total waste of money. Bottom line, I went with the lowest bid and you get what you pay for. I'm going to have to get my wife another massage to make up for this one.
Body Centre Day Spa's reply
Hello Kinwa, I just read your review. This is Brigette. I'm very sorry that you and your wife are so unhappy from yesterdays visit. So in response to that I need to say.........I just re-read our emails going back and forth to one another. No where in any of it, did I mention that I would be massaging her. What I did say was that the therapists had strong hands for her to feel out the pressure first. Now is in speaking with my therapist about it, she informed me that your wife stated she could use more pressure on her if she wanted. Being that she is pregnant, she did use more pressure, did not charge her for deep because didn't go deep. There's a big difference between deep tissue/pressure and applying more pressure. I was hoping your visit would be a great one, and we would see you as a future customer. However, in reading your review, it's clear that won't happen. That part is okay. I've been doing this for 13 years, and we have many many happy customers who continue to come back time and time again. Unfortunately your wife was not one of them. I'm very sorry for that. My staff are experienced massage therapists who have been here for quite a long while. I am very confident in their skills because I make sure not to ever allow them hands on until we have worked with their body mechanics, pressure, and skills. As far as the linen.........you're very wrong about that. The linen is clean, is always clean, and we change our linen after each and every client for hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness. Your disatisfacation is causing you to attack to entire Spa........and I'm sorry, but that's where I will step in to defend our reputation. I would be more than happy to refund you your money for your disservice you claim you have had. Your wife being pregnant should not get deep tissue or deep pressure massage......especially towards the mid and lower back with regard to the baby forming in the stomache. If you would like a refund, I would be more than happy to accomodate that. Just let me know. Lastly, the disatisfaction your wife and you have with our facility is one against many many happy customers - who continue to support our growth and credibility. As far as Taylor (the therapist).......I am very happy with her skills and her performance as a part of my team. With regard to ur prices.....they are set as they are to make it affordable for everyone. They do get what they pay for.....professional affordable service. Have a blessed day. Brigette
