I offer affordable dog training for you and your dog. I will help you to open the lines of communication with your dog through training.

I offer group classes, private lessons, and play groups for dogs. My training area possibilities are: Basic obedience, pet therapy, CGC, service dogs, and much more.

I am a certified trainer by a well-known training facility in Columbus, OH. I have trained service dogs for many years, and volunteer and help train rescue dogs to help them be more adoptable.

There are hundreds of training methods and equipment available. I use what works for the dog, and that the owner is comfortable using. It is important to form the training plan to the dog and owner's needs as not all dogs learn the same way.

In my training classes and sessions, I use a wide variety of distractions to ensure that your dog will perform the commands they are learning reliably anywhere. Some of the distractions I use: toys, my dogs, and I have a kitten that I use as a distraction in training.

I have had great feedback that this is very helpful in making the commands they are learning more solid and reliable.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look for experience and that they are connected with well known associations and are continuing ongoing learning through conferences and seminars.
What sports or training have they done with their own dogs? Have they earned titles or championships?
Look for someone that is willing to work with you and your dog and your needs and not push just one way or method of training on you.
If they are dead set on using treats and management equipment (haltis, gentle-leaders, and harnesses) ask if and when during the training you can take these off of your dog and will your dog still perform the commands with distractions without treats.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are many different methods and equipment in do training. There is no one method or equipment that works for ALL dogs. You do not need to use treats forever.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask to see their dog perform everything they are claiming your dog will learn. If the trainers dog can't perform everything they are claiming your dog will learn - how can they guarantee they can teach your dog?
