- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When choosing a private investigator it is best to be somewhat skeptical at times. Below is a short list of what to consider. - Are you talking to a salesperson or an actual LICENSED investigator that will either work your case or supervise your case? - Will a licensed private investigator be working in the field on your case? Be careful of word-play, many companies hire investigators with no experience, do not train them, and pay them low salaries. These companies tend to hire new investigators every few months. They are great training grounds for people that are fresh to the investigative world, and these companies may charge you less than most others, but you get what you pay for! - Request to see a copy of the Company license and proof of Omission and Errors insurance (O&O Investigations Carries a Two Million dollar policy in California). - Request to see sample reports. - Find out what kind of camera equipment the investigator is using, this will say a lot about his work. If an investigator is still using video tape and/or 8mm tape, then he is outdated. - Make sure the private investigator provides you with a proper contract.
