Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I do keynotes, workshops and breakout sessions at association conferences and corporate meetings. I also do workshops for companies and associations.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Be sure to watch the speakers video or to see him or her in person. Testimonials are fine but nothing replaces actually seeing the speaker in action.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There is a huge difference in the quality of speakers, and the quality of a speaker is not necessarily directly related to the size of their fee. There are excellent speakers who charge extremely reasonable fees and rather poor speakers who charge huge fees. To see find out far more about Barry, visit www.barrymaher.com.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Why are you the best person to do this job? Do you customize and tailor you presentations? What's your track record with clients like me and can you provide specific references as to the quality of your work? Do you have a video that I can view? How are your fees structured? Do you offer discounts for specific areas and specific times? Do you have a local rate and if so what do you consider your local area? How are travel expenses charged? Do you offer flat rates on travel?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Barry's session are highly motivational yet content rich, interactive and entertaining. And each is thoroughly and completely tailored and customized for the particular group.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I think what all speakers enjoy the most is watching an audience member grasp a point and ultimately of course, making a difference in peoples lives.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common question I get is, "How did you get started?"

I started out as a writer. Once my books got published, groups started asking me to speak but it took years to become an truly accomplished speaker.
