Introduction: I’ve worked with special education students in the classroom, I have a BS degree (psychology) and have tutored privately the gifted. I have a wide range of experience. Qualified to substitute teach in California ( passed CBEST). I bring creativity to the chessboard, ( I am a published artist) as well as strategic planning, professionalism and fun. Homework can be assigned. For more advanced students, lesson is free if I lose 3 games in a row during one one hour session!! Refer me to someone that books a session get a lesson for $30!!! I also charge for workbooks, $40 for a set which are highly recommended. For last minute cancellations within 24 hours of appointment I charge a fee of $40.

Jenny is a wonderful teacher. She helped our daughter develop her chess skills (including notation!) and her love for the game. The lessons are effective and also age appropriate where she pushes my child without being overbearing. I highly recommend her!

Jenny is the absolute best chess instructor I can ask for! We had her for one year and she taught my 10-year-old and my five-year-old and both of my kids learned everything they know about chess from Jenny. She’s amazing with kids and every time she came she had a different syllabus to teach my children from workbooks to work sheets to different apps and games on the computer. She also played games with them and taught them different strategies on how to think and win. She even gave them little toys after the session and my kids would get so excited. She really is a pleasure! My husband and I were extremely pleased with her. If you are considering having a chess instructor come to your home, Jenny is your girl! Thank you for all you taught my kids, they LOVE chess because of you, Jenny!

Jenny was a great fit for my 5 year old daughter! She was always patient with her but at the same time made sure the job is done! She is gentle, fun and punctual. We really liked her and what she had to offer.

I wish I could pick all 5! Jenny is amazing she taught me how to play chess and was so patient and knowledgeable! I’m on of those learners I will ask any stupid questions just so I know and she was so patient and gave me a lot of advice what to look for, to think ahead, take your time before making your next move! Really gave me the ins and outs. I would highly recommend her if you just want to learn or even to spice up your skills! You won’t be disappointed with her!

I work with clients on prices
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If they already know how to play, I play them to see what their weak areas are, then training begins, which is customized for each student. I use several different methods to teach, workbooks, iPad, puzzles, games. I also give a prize(s) to students after each session… I try to keep the student engaged in various chess activities!!!!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in training with a FIDE master
