Guitar Lessons with Rene

Introduction: I am a working professional guitarist/teacher who has been playing for over 30 years and teaching for 26 years. I currently play with the Top 40 band L.A. Lyon, the James Bangar Big Band and the fusion group Soul FX while also playing in pit orchestras, studio sessions and casuals in the L.A./O.C. areas. I teach folk, rock, blues, jazz, funk and classical guitar along with musicianship skills, such as theory, sight reading and ear training. My goal as a guitar teacher is to get you playing as quickly and effortlessly as possible while dispensing musical skills that, with practice and patience, will help the student to become a more self-sufficient player. I do have to add that results also come from the student in the form of practice and realistic short and long-term goals. If you are willing to practice, you will be surprised how much I can help you accomplish! The most enjoyable part of my job is watching my students reach their short and long term goals and in the process become not just guitar players, but also music makers.
