I will customize different methods depending on the student, not according to what style I am accostomed to teaching. In addition, I also try to instill positive motivation in my students as they progress, yet I am still firm when need be, as students need to be pushed to get further, and I do not expect anyone to be perfect, I just want to see that they are at least trying, and working hard toward the excercises I give my students to practice. I will also remind them that it doesn't matter what level you are at, but that excellence comes from hard work and dedication, not from being born with a talent.
I like to see the transformation in my students, from where they started, in terms of knowledge, and basic skills. The tangible improvements that they make are amazing, they make you feel like you are doing something right.
