FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Since I was 6, I was teaching classes to my toys, create exams, grade them. That moved into fun pretend-teacher games with my friends and my brother. Over time, I became the person to go to for tutoring, help, at that time, I did it for free. One time, my statistics professor (my first undergraduate statistics class) let me teach the class, it was amazing:) In graduate school, I was SPSS data analysis TA (the lab for the statistics course), and won the Best Teaching Assistant of the Year two years in a row, making a record of a "boring" SPSS lab TA winning this award two years in a row. I didn't have to edit homework but I did because I wanted my class to do well on the tests. I noticed that I loved teaching anything and everything. I "blame" my grandmother, she was a teacher all her life, and her students would visit her 20 years later after graduation. I knew that I would be a professor and a tutor, a student can change my mood to the best every single time. What else can I ask for?
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My rates are high, $55 to $80 per hour or flat rate. I have a PhD and pretty much take your stress and your course/dissertation as my responsibility as well so you never are alone with it. I can teach but in many cases I help you to save time and money. My rates are too high for mathematics, writing, editing, basic statistics. You will certainly find a cheaper tutor. However, if you are taking statistics and are thinking you will fail, I will save you money by passing you. Also, dissertation or master's thesis is a lot of stress and units are expensive. I am your personal Chair who makes sure you complete it in a timely manner in the best way possible and according to your Chair's requirements. Finally, data analysis. Here, I can negotiate my rates if the analyses are pretty simple. I have almost every statistical software so you don't need to waste money and buy it, if it is only for one class.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I do not consider myself a tutor. I am your personal supervisor/chair of your dissertation/teacher. I do not break promises. When I agree to work with a student, I make sure that I finish everything they needed no matter what, and make myself available for future requests from that student.
