The Gourmet Table was founded in 2005. Elsie Tracy and her business partner, Stacy Mackey, began talking about such a venture when they were both working at Wolfgang Puck's Grand Café. At that time, they were graduating culinary students completing their internship prerequisite.
My favorite and successful project was a Christmas party that I donated my time to for one of my clients last year.
The major challenge both are facing now is keeping regular customers. They have customers who have been with them from the start, but some often come and go due to hard economic times.
Tickets were sold, and the funds collected were to help a church grow. Giving back is a wonderful feeling!
