Introduction: Hello! My name is Chris, and I am a professional and experienced piano teacher. I would love to share my passion with you and/or your children. I use an easy-to-understand, fun, and exciting teaching style that meets your own personal goals. My education and experience: - I received both my BM and MM in Classical Piano Performance at San Francisco State University - Doctoral candidate, University of Missouri-Kansas City, 2009-2010; GPA: 3.27 - Awards received: first place winner of the Annual Concerto Competition at UMKC; first place winner in the Avalos Competition; and winner of the Annual Concerto Competition at SFSU - I am currently the music teacher at a private school in Danville and have been with them since 2011 - I have been teaching private piano lessons since 2008 I work until 3:00 p.m. in Danville Monday through Friday and take a long 2-hour lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and would be happy to do lessons in the area after work or during my lunch break. When I am done with work and/or private lessons near Danville, I commute home to Oakland and then am available to teach in the Oakland area in the evening (or any locations on the way). I am very flexible and would love to make it as easy as possible for you. In the convenience of your own home, my charge is $35/half hour or $65/hour. I look forward to meeting you! "Music is so important. It says things your heart can't say any other way, and in a language everyone speaks. Music crosses borders, turns frowns into smiles, and vice versa with the most awakening forms of expression."

I have been taking piano lessons with Chris for a couple months now and I am truly impressed by not only his talent but also he is a very kind and patient teacher. I am 32 and came to Chris with only very basic knowledge about music. In just a couple months, I am just ecstatic about my progress! Chris teaches a lot of children and I am sure he does it very well but as for me, an adult, I would highly recommend him to anyone!!
