Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
How long have you been in the area. How long have you been teaching. How long you have work with kids/adults. What is the student to teacher ratio. How long did it take you to receive your rank. Why do you teach karate/martial arts. When was the last time you yourself, tested for a rank. Who are you affiliated with. Can I practice this style elsewhere in the USA/Around the world. Who are the assistant instructors, what is their role, and how are they qualified. How often are the instructors and assistant instructors updated and re-certified.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. The benefits of martial arts are plenty. Karate in particular is the one of the richest, most detailed martial art you can learn. Our school is affiliated with our international organization and the USA National Karate Federation (the National Governing Body for Karate) via US Olympic Committee. Further, the art we teach is practiced worldwide, and your rank will be honored throughout the world, not just within our four walls. Our Chief Instructor has been teaching for over 30 years, and our assistants are constantly monitored and mentored by him, on weekly basis.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Make sure that your school has a real, substantial lineage. Search the instructors and the style you are planning to follow on the web. Be knowledgeable about what you are investing in. Take two or three classes or a trial program, before you register for a long term program. Be careful of self-proclaimed masters, and schools without substance. Consider the quality of instruction and the over-all value above anything else.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love that i am making a difference in my community with our youth and teaching something that is helping people stay in shape and build their minds and bodies while giving the gift of self defense skills for today's world.

I get the chance to help others relieve stress while giving families the opportunity to do something together in a positive environment.

One of the best things about my work is that I love it, it is my passion in life, it is not a job to me. It is just what i love doing all the time.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. It was always a childhood fascination of mine to study martial arts. I loved watching Karate and Kung-fu movies when they were very popular in the late 70's.

I bought my first martial arts book at age five that answered many of my curiosities at a young age.

Once I began studying martial arts at age 7 it was history after that and finally after many years of training and a life long dream filled with hope and direction, I managed to open my academy by age 28. It has been a great experience ever since the first day

The most outstanding feeling is being able to do what I love so much for a living while giving back to others all that I have gained and benefitted from the Martial arts.
