FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Carbon Steel is the cheapest because it requires less expensive consumables, less work & dexterity. While Aluminum, and Stailess Steel require more expensive consumables, far more work, experience, dexterity, and usually TIME.. When it comes to metal fusion, (preparation) is everything. More exotic metals require much more prep. My minimum charge is $40 for anything. If it goes over an hour we can negotiate. Portable welding & fabrication "in the field" is obviously more expensive, as I mush transport all my equipment, and tools to the work site(encluding my own 240volt 7000 Watt electricity, vehicular fuel, insurance, wear& tear... It adds up!!! These things must all be passed on to the customer. For EVERY type of job, my profit remains the same. Does that make sense?
