Reviews

  • 5/5 stars

We had another contractor refinish our hardwood floor, and it was a disaster. I contacted Blue Ribbon and they came out quickly and redid the floor. The service was impeccable, they spent the time to do an excellent job, making sure everything was sanded level. The finish job is beautiful and the floor looks fabulous! Thank you Blue Ribbon!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The most common types of jobs are hardwood installations, Sand & Finish and Carpet.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Absolutely check the contractor's references and check to make sure they are licensed. There are many people around these days selling themselves at an ultra low cost. The problem is, most are unlicensed and end up doing more harm than good.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Not all Hardwood Installers and Refinishers are created equal. If you are looking for a rock bottom price, chances are you are going to receive a substandard floor. In this business, quality products cost money and quality craftsmanship takes time. You truly do get what you pay for. For instance: if you are looking to refinish the hardwood floors in you rental unit and merely want them quickly sanded and cleaned up, that is one thing. However, If you are looking to get the floors refinished in your home and want quality work, unfortunately much more time will be needed to create the floor you deserve and the costs are typically more.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. First and foremost you should always ask to see the contractors license and bond for your piece of mind as a consumer. If something were to go horribly wrong and something happened to your house because of the contractor, this would protect you. Too many unlicensed contractors are being hired and degrading numerous trades. Also ask for pictures and references; any contractor who does great work will be proud and eager to show his other work and satisfied customers to anyone.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Attention to detail, outstanding customer service & unsurpassed quality is what sets Blue Ribbon Flooring apart from other companies.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. There seems to be a degradation of many trades, including the flooring trade. Providing people with quality they deserve is what needs to be done. People take great pride in their homes and we want to put a smile on their face when they see the level of quality we provide. Meeting new people and helping them find what they want to upgrade their homes is also one of the things most liked about this business. Sometimes people just know they want something new and updated. Help, guidance and the realization of all the effort and hard work makes it truly a fulfilling business for the people at this company.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I am a third generation flooring contractor with many years of experience handed down by my Father and Grandfather. After college, I decided to open my own flooring business.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. The greatest strength of Blue Ribbon Flooring is it's commitment to excellence. Always punctual, always friendly and always putting the customer first.
