Introduction: Timothy (Teo) Potts, L.Ac. has a family practice that specializes in the treatment of adults and children. In Chinese, the word for family also means home. It is his deepest hope that his clinic will feel like a second home for his patients, a calm space where close attention will be paid to their well-being, empowering them to find healing and peace and wholeness within themselves. Some of the more common concerns treated are: colds and flu, eczema, asthma, allergies, chronic ear infections, teething issues, colic, digestive disorders, constipation, diarrhea, failure to thrive, morning sickness, acid reflux, back, hip, neck and other body pain (both acute and chronic), insomnia, emotional imbalances, PMS, irregular menses, and more. Timothy (Teo) Potts is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in the state of California. He received his master's of traditional Chinese medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. Timothy continued his education of natural medicine for children through the holistic pediatric trainings associated with the national organization, The Holistic Pediatric Association. He received certification in Thai massage from the Thai Massage School Shivagakomarpag at the Old Medicine Hospital, Chang Mai, Thailand and certification in Asian bodywork at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA. Timothy's work as a consultant for Mayway, a local Chinese herb distribution company, has deepened his knowledge of Chinese herbs and allowed him to visit China to see first hand the process of growing and making Chinese herbal medicine.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I provide acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for my patients. In the course of treatment, modalities used could include, acupuncture, gua-sha, moxibustion, massage therapy and cupping. Patients come for all kinds of concerns; common cold, frequent illness, chronic pain, acute pains, back pain, headaches, asthma, fertility concerns, immune deficiencies, dietary concerns, digestive issues and more.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Acupuncture treatment is a unique treatment modality and it is important that you find a practitioner that you get along with and comfortable with. If they are willing, it is a great idea to try and set up a consultation in person or over the phone to get a sense if they are someone that you would like to work with. Reviews can be helpful but meeting them in person is even better.
