Study guitar with a degreed musician!

I teach private guitar lessons in many styles, from beginning to advanced levels. I have 35 years of teaching and performing experience and have recorded 15 albums in various music styles.

Besides private lessons, I also invite my students to join our Encinitas Guitar Orchestra, where they get playing experience that challenge their musicianship skills and to have an outlet for their music. The camaraderie and musical experiences are invaluable!

My approach to teaching is centered around the uniqueness of each individual. My students range in ages 5 to 75, and everyone has different goals and a different approach to learning. It's my job to find which approach is best for each student.

Some of my students are music majors or working music professionals, while some are enjoying music as a hobby and some students are exploring to see where their talents will take them. My musical tastes are very eclectic, and I can cover most styles of music. With varying ages, levels, musical tastes, and goals I enjoy creating a customized study program for each student.

Being a performer and recording artist for many years, a private and college teacher and music career consultant, I feel thoroughly prepared to guide you with your music goals.

  I've been playing guitar off and on since the '60's, but had given it up before meeting Peter. I've been taking lessons from him for over 5 years now. He's great! He encourages me and helps me push beyond what is easy. My playing and confidence has improved so much since studying with Peter. I've even been playing guitar and singing in coffee shops around town; something I'd never have done without his encouragement. I highly recommend Peter as a teacher and a performer!
