FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to charge a design service fee for my creative talent, time and sources I can bring to you. My fees are very transparent. If I do not have to purchase for you what ever price discount I get I pass it on to you as part of my design service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am very proud of my expertise and experience. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Sacramento majoring in fine arts and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis majoring in architectural design. Throughout my career I have won various competitions and awards including Street of Dreams and Sacramento Magazine Design Awards. My work has appeared in national magazines i.e. Better Homes & Garden, as well as The Sacramento Bee etc. For many years I taught design classes at Los Rios Community College District and one year at U.C. Davis. I also had a 4:30 pm news spot on interior design at KCRA in the late 90's. My career spans over 30 years. That does not mean I'm an old fashion designer. I keep up with the trends but also remember my history. The love I have for the field is to get to know my clients and help them articulate what their taste is and bring it to fruition.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been doing interiors since I could hold a paint brush. I didn't know that's what it was but I've always been involved in home interiors. To get through art school I helped others furnish their rooms and small apartments. I made floor pillows and sought out fabric outlets. I bought furniture at used furniture stores to strip and refinish. Eventually I slowly gravitated toward more serious and extensive work. That is when I realized I wanted to add a professional design degree to my art background and I've been at it ever since.
