Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do your homework, contact your Contractors State Licensing Board and make sure that the Contractor's License Number is valid and that the number on the license is tide to the name of whoever is selling you services. Ask for recent references and references dating back a few years.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. The ins and outs of materials. Some unlicensed contractors are using LESS and BAD materials but customers are not aware of this situation and the customer usually takes the lowest bid not knowing what they are getting into.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. 1. Show me your pocket license
2. Show me your liability insurance
3. Show me your Wormans Compensation Insurance
4. Put everything in writing including type of materials, quantities and time of completion.
5. Show me a contract that has been approved by the State Licensing Board.
