Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Residential new roofs and reroofs are are most common projects. But having a commerical background gives us the added benefit of taking on small commerical projects.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. My advice would hire a licensed contractor in whatever state you live. Also make sure they provide you with all the current information regarding the types of roofing products offered do they meet title #24 compliance standards.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If i were the customer i wish i had done an in depth research of the materials that i am wanting to use on my project. A good place to start is with the manufacturers websites to get a comprehensive overview of their products offered for my particular project.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. For my particular trade an in person meeting and accessment of access and egress of the project is necessary to give a competitive proposal. Usually over the phone bids are low ball numbers without ever taking a look at the project.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We stand out above our other competitors simply because we are always available for contact before, during and after the project is complete.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Meeting different people with a wide variety of personalities always makes the project interesting and each project has its own challenges.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Probably the most common question is are you licensed. My answer is yes #800547 (You can also go to the contractors state license board to check that license also.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I really wish that they understood the great amount of physical endurance that it takes to not only start a roofing project but also the amount of skill that it takes also, to deliver a reliable product.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. After spending 27 plus years in the commerical roofing building trades it was a good fit to move into the residential roofing market. Not only do i have C-39 Roofing license i also have a B- General Contractors license which lets me diagnose structural issues with particular projects we encounter in the field.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Green technology has been getting alot of push as of late along with PG&E and many other green friendly companies. So continue to educate myself on these new and innovative products.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Again green friendly product s continue to on the forefront of these changing roofing products. Title #24 products especially in california with the different climate zones are going to be exciting in the decade to come.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. There usually isnt a complicated pricing system we use most proposals are done after the project is measured and access is determined. If you as a customer are impressed with fancy hand writing and or complicated computer generated proposals then go with that individual or company. If you are looking for a no-nonsense straight forward hand written in a language you can understand proposal we are it.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would suggest that you really consider what you as an owner are willing to put into your business in todays business climate.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. If this project were my own what would i use. I would want the most cost effective product combined with longevitity along with energy effeciency that i could use.
