FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely, I attend a minimum of one class per month and I attend hair and makeup trade shows all across California.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out wanting to be a hair stylist when I was in high school. I would always be cutting and coloring my own hair and playing with different extensions. I still do my own hair to this day! I would do my friends hair and my family's hair, and eventually I came up with the cash to go to cosmetology school and start living the dream!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always, always, always, make sure the hairdresser you choose to go to gives you a thorough consultation! The number 1 reason you received a bad hair cut or color the last time is because you and your stylist didn't engage in the proper conversations prior. Bring pictures if you have a hard time describing the look you want. Your hairstylist HAS the technical skills to execute what you want, it's just all about communication! Face shape, head shape, skin tone, and your personal style play a huge factor as well. And most importantly, always tell your stylist what styles you absolutely hate and would never want! That way you can avoid any damage! I tell my clients to bring pictures of styles they love and hate.
