- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If youre looking for a private bartender, be sure to set your standards high. Not only should this person be knowledgeable when pouring drinks, they also need to have a great personality. All of this should be done while maintaining a high level of professionalism! Your bartender should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event to familiarize themselves with the area they will be working in and to set up their work station. A functioning and efficient bar are two very important components for timely drink service. It takes time to prepare garnishes which is dependent on the amount of guests. Additional prepping can include chilling beer and staging an easily accessible area near the bar for any backups. A bartender should be in direct contact with their potential client before the event. As a Rule, I make it a point to call the host when I am in route to the party. This way he or she can focus on other aspects of the party and have one less worry about something going wrong. Your bartender must be readily available to answer any questions for the host, and build a friendly relationship so both the host and bartender are comfortable the night of the event. A good bartender will cater to each guests needs, and make sure everyone is satisfied. Anyone can memorize how to pour a drink, but it must be served with a great attitude.
