Introduction: We have a strong emphasis on good horsemanship skills as well as riding basics. Riders will learn to catch their own horse, groom and saddle before each ride, and care for horse and tack after each ride as well. Good horsemanship gives riders confidence around horses and teaches them how to be safe and have fun. We teach all abilities and ages from short-stirrup to rusty-stirrup, focusing on jumping and dressage. We even can do Western lessons! At Graceland, we have gorgeous trails with views of the valley and hills beyond. I love watching my riders grow in confidence and ability. It's so nice to give them a strong start in equitation so they can go anywhere with the basics.

I have taken two lessons from Dannielle at Graceland Equestrian Center and have been very satisfied and glad that I was put in connection with her. Her teaching style one on one is great and I love her continual instruction during my lessons and her desire to want me to improve as much as I do myself. I can tell that she takes pride in teaching her lessons and tries to make it fun for her younger riders by doing special monthly "events" and equipment quizzes and more. The facility itself is beautiful and all of the people I've met are just the nicest bunch. Would recommend her to anyone looking for lessons!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$75 private lesson. $65 semi-private or group lessons. When you purchase a package of ten lessons you get the eleventh free! We also offer a beginning package of three lessons to new students for $195.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Received a BS in Equestrian Science with a focus in Hunt Seat riding. Level 4 CHA certified instructor in both English and Western riding.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started riding in third grade at Girl Scout camp. I got bit by the horse bug hard, and would trade babysitting to ride any horse I could growing up. Eventually, I wound up teaching lessons at a local barn in Illinois and found it incredibly rewarding. I went to college for Equestrian Science focusing on Hunt Seat Equitation to polish off my skills and have loved teaching ever since.
