Yes, I will deliver items you buy for your home for $20! Why pay a standard delivery fee?

Most stores charge a standard delivery fee regardless of the size of the items to be delivered or the distance traveled. So if you live close to the store where you buy, you end up paying for other people's deliveries who are farther away, or buy larger and heavier items.

I will deliver moderately-heavy items such as sofas, light dressers, washers and other items to your home from stores within 3 miles with your help for just $20 on weekdays. Heavier items like sofa beds, refrigerators, heavy dressers and other items, or going up or down one flight of stairs cost just $5.00 more.

I also offer a complete delivery service where two guys deliver your items without you lifting a finger. This will, of course, cost extra.

The delivery guy will deliver furniture and appliances from stores to your home or office. We can deliver sofas, sofa beds, upright pianos, refrigerators, dining tables, beds, washers, dryers and most large items for your home.

We can also deliver desks, file cabinets, conference tables and floor copiers to your office. We've even delivered large toolboxes, table saws, riding mowers for the garage or shop. Even if you need crated items picked up from the air freight terminal or from the customs warehouse, we're the guys to do that.

I called and was amazed how The Delivery Guy was able to deliver my bedroom set the same day I bought it. I'll recommend him to my friends and will certainly call when I buy an entertainment center for my living room.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. 40% of my business is Furniture Delivery (sofas and reefers).
35% of my business is Moving.
20% of my business is Motorcycle Transport.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Please make sure that your items are in stock and ready to be delivered before you call.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Ask me what you'd like to know...

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. You should have a complete list of your items.
You should have a complete address of origin.
You should have a complete destination address.
You should have your cash ready, not at the ATM.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Most deliveries can be performed within 4 hours. Some can even be done within an hour! I take care of your items. I know how to rig a load and can get it to you in one piece.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. When I get calls from Granny's or Grandpa's. You just know they were either Nurses or Rosie's (the Riveter) or acutally landing on Omaha, Utah or maybe patroling in Leyte or Midway. 10% off if you have something believable that says you were there...

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How Much?!

Unfortunately, there's no easy answer to that question. It depends on what it is, where it's going, and where it's coming from.
Most items traveling 3 miles or less from the origin and within 6 miles of the 55 and the 5 junction during the weekdays and with you or yours helping can be delivered for just $20.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. One guy called me and i delivered an item of furniture to his home. I gave him my card and said: "Anything you need, just give me a call".
Weeks later, he called and asked me to meet him at an address in the Balboa Peninsula. He had 3 big fish that he caught during a fishing charter. We took them to a local fish market.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Traffic is a bi#ch. Believe me when I tell you I'm moving as fast as I can. If you don't believe me, just call anyone who knows me and ask them.
Please don't make me wait outside the store while you're shopping or waiting for the store clerk to bring it outside. Have it outside by the time I get there.
Please be home when I deliver your items. Please don't be out and tell me over the phone: "I'll be right there."
If you're waiting a bit longer than when I said I'd be there, it's 99% probable that the guy before you did something to delay me.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Had truck, decided to travel!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I got an antique sundial from Long Beach to Kenebunk, ME in 3 days. I drove by myself. It originated in Vietnam and was delayed by US Customs in Long Beach. Picked it up Thursday morning and delivered it Saturday night.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Not really... Just keep passing the DMV written test and you're good to go!

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Just waiting for when they come out with a hover truck. That might be fun!

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. Nothing exciting. I transported a motorcycle from LA to Fontana. for $80. Did it in about an hour.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Aquire excellent rigging skils. Anyone can drive. It's all in the rigging!
