Introduction: I am a certified positive reinforcement trainer and behavior consultant through DTIA San Francisco. I offer consults to review your dogs behavior, provide a training and management plan. During the consult I will evaluate if the dog needs additional training with me or if the owner can do the training. I work with the client to help them understand their dogs behavior. Train the human to work with their dog to modify behaviors and help improve the dogs emotional state.

Naomi has been a lifesaver for me! About 5 months ago I adopted a 4 year old mixed breed dog with very little training, strong leash pulling, and dog reactivity issues. I went to 2 other trainers before Naomi who trained using aversive techniques. In each case, it seemed promising at first but I quickly became tired of punishing my dog constantly and also noticed no improvements. Her dog reactivity just seemed to be getting worse. When I started working with Naomi, I learned this is common with aversives because the pain the dog is feeling often exacerbates the reactivity. Naomi helped me learn to read my dog's body language and lower her stress levels in general. Naomi has been extremely supportive and responsive. She has answered all my questions thoroughly and sent me tons of resources on everything from puzzle feeders to keep my high energy dog occupied to training videos to recipes for home made treats. Her rates are much more affordable than the other trainers I went to which I thoroughly appreciate. After working with Naomi for a few weeks, I started noticing some great improvements in my dog's engagement with me and general levels of stress and anxiety. I'm looking forward to implementing more of what I have been learning from Naomi.

Naomi is a fantastic dog trainer. Even though we had to adapt the training to do more remotely than would be ideal under normal circumstances (because of COVID), Naomi made it work by staying in close touch over email and texts. We worked together in person and she really listened to our situation with our dog and helped us understand not just what to do but also the "why" behind the "what". Naomi followed up with frequent check-ins and sent videos to help reinforce what we learned during our in-person session. Her approach was very simple, but she emphasized the importance of consistency and helped trouble-shoot when implementation didn't seem to be working. Overall, I would highly recommend Naomi without any reservations.

Naomi is wonderful, she is extremely knowledgeable and can read dog behavior better than anyone I have ever worked with (at least 10 different dog trainers). She is extremely professional and makes great use of the time you spend together, she is also available for all the support you need as you integrate in the new training. My three dogs were on the verge of fighting, due to our lack of management and training. She changed our lives! We now know many, many different training techniques to keep our dogs mentally stimulated and we know how to create space for them to decompress and relax so when they are together, they are less stressed and much more relaxed. Working with Naomi was an incredible experience, I can’t imagine finding anyone better!!

I 100% recommend Naomi as a trainer. She really works on making YOU the best dog trainer for your dog & has a respectable understanding of how dogs work. My dog Chula (5 months old today!) was very anxious, timid & jumpy. She had a huge fear of her leash & would even be scared of my own mother. As soon as me & Naomi got to work i started seeing an improvement. She is still a cautious pup but I know now how to handle her in those situations. Along with teaching my pup to be comfortable in new settings with new people. The biggest triumph however is the leash training. I started this with zero hope i’d ever be able to take her on walks & envious of all the other happy dogs on their leashes. Now Chula is one of those dogs & i couldn’t be happier. she wags her tail as we walk around my block & it’s all thanks to everything Naomi taught me

Naomi with Along Came a Dog has been an integral part of my dog’s training process. I adopted an older but young spirited MinPin- Zoe— about 6 weeks ago and she’s a delightful sweet dog but lacked some standard training and has a few challenges. Due to the COVID shelter in place mandate we were unable to set up normal in person sessions. Naomi and I used the video tools online to evaluate what I was currently doing with my Zoe and we were able to pinpoint areas of improvement. Naomi has been so helpful with providing clear direction and has been diligent with follow up. I have seen progress with Zoe almost right away. This training is ongoing and with Naomis help I’m confident my training with Zoe will continue to progress. And as soon as we are able to have an in person trainings I will call Naomi for that meeting! I highly recommend Naomi for dog training!
