FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was destined to be in this line of work from childhood. My grandfather was a successful homebuilder in San Francisco having immigrated from Norway. When I was a kid all i used to do was play with saws and hammers, nailing pieces of wood together on job sites of his. When I was seven years old I started working with my grandfather on their house, roofing, sheet rocking, learning plumbing, electrical a little bit of everything. My other grandfather was a furniture builder and i remember he had the most unbelievable workshop, and although he passed when i was young, my dad had picked up enough from him to pass it on to me. And speaking of my dad, he was one of those jack of all trades kinda guys, adding an addition to our home one day, rebuilding the engine on our car the next, the maybe building a new coffee table. So my whole life was spent working with my hands and loving it.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

"We don't look at this as being a job, We look at the job to be an extension of our own design and trade skill talents that are a reward in itself". "We enjoy working with our hands and do most the work ourselves". "We of coarse are doing this to make a living, but a job well done and the pride of our workmanship speaks volumes for our efforts".

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

What a lot of homeowners seem to be unaware of is the liability that they take on when they hire unlicensed workers and allow them to work on sensitive parts of their home. For instance what most building inspectors will tell you they are most concerned with is electrical, gas, and structure. These components of a home can mean life or death to people living in that home. Bad electrical can result in a fire. Bad gas fittings can cause an explosion, and bad structure can cause roofs, ceilings and walls to collapse in an earthquake. We are not only qualified to do this work but we are always learning new techniques and practices to improve these areas as well as reducing the price. All of the subs we use are some of the best in their field, and are licensed, insured, and bonded. And just so anyone wanting to hire us should know, is how insured, licensed, and qualified are we.
